K12 Helper — Trial Privacy Notice

Who we are

K12 Helper is a trial service operated by K12worX. This privacy notice covers only the K12 Helper trial intake assessment flow. It does not cover K12worX accounts or any other K12worX product.

What we collect

When a tutor fills out the intake form, we collect the tutor's name and email address, the parent's name and email address, and optionally the student's first name. We also collect a note from the tutor if one is provided.

When a student completes the assessment, we collect the student's answers to the assessment items. We do not collect the student's email address, last name, date of birth, school, or any other identifying information beyond an optional first name.

We collect your IP address and browser user-agent when the tutor form is submitted, for abuse prevention only.

How we use it

  • To send the tutor a confirmation email before any parent is contacted.
  • To send the parent an invitation to the assessment.
  • To send the tutor the results after the student submits.
  • To send the parent a submission receipt.
  • To prevent abuse of the form (IP-based rate limiting).

We do not use the information for advertising, analytics profiles, or any purpose beyond delivering the trial service.

How long we keep it

Assessment answers and all personal information are deleted automatically 7 days after the student submits the assessment. If the tutor creates a K12worX account and claims the trial results before day 7, the data is retained under the K12worX account terms.

If the tutor never confirms their email address, the record and all associated information are deleted after 7 days. If the parent never confirms, deletion happens after 14 days.

Children's information (COPPA)

We designed this service specifically to avoid collecting personal information from children directly. The student's parent or guardian must confirm consent before the assessment starts. We never ask the student for their email address. The student's answers are sent only to the tutor designated by the parent.

If you believe we have collected personal information from a child without parental consent, contact us immediately at support@k12helper.com and we will delete it promptly.

Your rights and deletion requests

You can request deletion of your assessment record at any time. Each parent confirmation email includes a "Delete this record" link. Clicking it sends a confirmation email to the parent address. Clicking the link in that email permanently deletes the row and all associated data.

Who we share with

Assessment results are shared only with the tutor whose email address was confirmed before the assessment was sent. We use AWS Simple Email Service to send transactional emails. We do not sell personal information.

Changes to this notice

We will post any changes here. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the date of the most recent update. Material changes that expand the data we collect or how we use it will be announced by email to affected users.
